Zhen Jianhua started learning Peking Opera at the age of 10. He graduated from the Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera, learning from famous Peking Opera performers including Wang Shixu, Li Shilin, and Li Fuchun. He has performed in Europe, the United States and many Asian countries, and has played the leading role in many famous traditional Chinese operas. He also won the individual performer award issued by the Ministry of Culture at the National Joint Performance of Modern Peking Operas.
