Miss Sha Yuan was born in 1977 in Zhejiang Province of China and started to learn playing Zheng since she was six. In 1987, started her education in the primary school of the Central Conservatory of Music and was recommended into the secondary school of the Central Conservatory of Music in 1990 due to her outstanding performance. In 1996, again because of her outstanding academic performance, Miss Yuan was recommended into the Central Conservatory of Music and studied in the Faculty of Chinese Folk Music and was taught by professor Meng Li. At the age of 21, Yuan Sha successfully held her first individual concert in Beijing. In 1999, she studied her graduate study on Zheng.
Within her academic life, Miss Yuan has been being an ever first prize scholarship winner in the Central Conservatory of Music. Meanwhile, she was the winner of scholarships such as “Fu Chengxian Prize”, “China National Folk Bond Scholarship”, and the U.S “Sumor” Scholarship etc.
Miss Yuan Sha's publications include 0“Meeting of flower and phonogram” and “Appreciation of Zheng” .
Miss Yuan Sha has toured and performed in regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, France, Belgian, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Swiss, and Hungary.
